ENTRY NOTES: ALL ENTRIES are taken through this page - new players (i.e. players without a CLUTCH profile) should first create their account and then register for the event. Creating a profile enables you to enter any event in the future which is run by CLUTCH, without the need to re-enter your details every time. Successful applicants will be notified after the close of entries, at which point payment will be taken. Should a successful entrant withdraw after the closing date the entry fee is non-refundable. 

 

Clutch Tour membership IS NOT required.

 

Players may purchase the official CLERE GOLF tournament course guides at the discounted rate of £15, during registration. On-site during event week, these will be £20.

 

TOURNAMENT INCENTIVES:

 

The 2023 Tillman Trophy winner will earn a FULLY EXEMPT CARD for the 2023 Tier 1 Clutch Pro Tour Schedule. The player may choose to compete as an amateur on the tour, or turn pro. The exemption means access to every Clutch Tier 1 event, without the need to earn a card via the Clutch 2024 qualifying school.

 

Top 3 Players will receive an invite to play in the £100,000 CLUTCH PRO TOUR event at Slaley Hall; August 9-11, 2023.

 

Winners package includes product from Mizuno, Galvin Green and a Q Hotels stay.

 

ENTRY CRITERIA:

Entries will be accepted from male amateur golfers with a handicap index of 1.4 or below. In the event entries are over-subscribed, the following entry criteria will apply:

 

1. Any player competing in the 2023 European Amateur Team Championship

2. Previous Winners of the Tillman Trophy

3. The top 15 finishers (& ties) from the 2022 Tillman Trophy held at Castle Royle

4. 2021/22 Champions of: The Reid Trophy, McGregor Trophy, Carris Trophy, Brabazon Trophy, English Amateur, British Amateur, British Mid-Amateur

5. Players earning a Tillman Trophy exemption from official qualifiers

6. A maximum of 8 invites at the complete discretion of the tournament organisers.

7. The 75 players with the highest WAGR at close of entries (June 27th, 2023)

8. The remainder of the full field of 156 players will be made up based on WHS index at closing date - it is the player's responsibility to ensure that CLUTCH has their correct WHS index on record. (We anticipate a minimum of 50 places will be available in this category).

*the above qualifiers do not have handicap index limits. Players earning a spot through these events are GUARANTEED to play in the Tillman Trophy and are NOT required to pay any further entry fees.

 

FULL TILLMAN TROPHY EVENT ITINERARY:

Monday 17th July - Official Practice Round

Tuesday 18th July - Round 1

Wednesday 19th July - Round 2, cut to top 50 and ties

Thursday 20th July - Round 3

 

PRACTICE: Official Practice Monday 17th July - no tee times, players tee off when you like from 7:30am. Please join up with other competitors. PLEASE NOTE LAST TIME TO TEE OFF 3:30pm due to course prep work.

 

PRACTICE FACILITIES: Grass range with complimentary golf balls. Putting green.

 

CATERING: Available on-site
